This has to be one of the most unusual weeks we’ve ever seen in the domain aftermarket. The often-maligned .BIZ TLD topped all comers to lead our new all extension Top 20 Sales Chart and five of the first six places were swept by non .com TLDs. Appropriately enough, the unlikely leader on the  all  extension list is All.biz, sold at Sedo for a phenomenal $61,750 making it the largest non .com gTLD sale so far this year.

Two other non .com gTLDs (both .orgs) and a pair of ccTLDs also took places among the top six, leaving only one spot on  the upper reaches of the chart for the usually dominant .coms – that was #3 SmartGrid.com, sold at Sedo for $33,500.”

2.de led the country codes – at #2 of course – with a $40,310 sale at Sedo, a venue that piled up 15 of the 20 chart entries and 7 of the top 10. #4 Music.co gave the ccTLDS another big sale at $30,000, also through Sedo.  All told. five country codes made the elite list, including the year’s biggest .US sale – #18 (tie) Very.us – at $13,000.
