Some learn from books, others learn from brunch. When it comes to self-improvement, Katrina Cohens believes that in order to make a difference in her clients’ lives, she has to meet them where they are most comfortable, be it through an online class or over eggs and mimosas.

“I want to continue to focus on growing my business, and help my clients become the best versions of themselves,” says the life coach and founder of CohensConsulting.biz. That’s why she experiments with a variety of formats for her coaching services, including one-on-one digital coaching and live events. The certified Master Life/Leadership Coach and women’s empowerment facilitator just wrapped  up her flagship event of the summer, “A Highly Qualified & Blessed Brunch” on August 5 at the Serenity Entertainment Complex in Macon, Georgia, where she is based. “This event was extremely motivational and powerful!” notes Cohens. The brunch featured dishes by Catered Events-Donie Hogan, amazing speakers, and stress-free networking opportunities. Most importantly, Cohens writes, “We were able to support and celebrate each other.”

Year round, Cohens reaches her clients in other creative ways. During the winter she hosts a Zoom series titled the “3 Ps to Success: Purpose, Productivity, and Process.” The digital courses focus on how to build an action plan for achieving personal and professional goals.  This past spring, she was a panelist for Career Women’s Network and Macon Magazine; the  event at Hotel Forty-Five featured other leaders from the corporate, entrepreneurship, nonprofit, and higher education fields to discuss “The Art of Networking.”

Whether it be live panels or digital webinars, Cohens says no matter the format, her events and services are designed to motivate. To keep clients current, the coach and entrepreneur expertly uses her website, CohensConsulting.Biz. While the coach focuses on productivity, as a solopreneur, she is also focused on prices. That’s why she opted for the professional domain of .biz. “It was available at a great price!” she says.

Here Cohens shares more about her consulting business and how she uses her .biz website to showcase her achievements as a local entrepreneur in Macon, GA.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Katrina Cohens, and I am the CEO and Founder of Cohens Consulting Services, LLC.  Cohens Consulting Services is a Coaching and Consulting business based out of Macon GA.  I am a certified Master Life Coach, my focus includes professionalism, happiness, life purpose, and goal success coaching.

For those that are unfamiliar with it, can you describe what your coaching business does?

I work with clients by providing the skills, support, and motivation to unleash their fullest potential.  I teach the art of focusing on positive thoughts and mindsets.

What motivated you to take the first step in launching your organization?

I love helping leaders navigate challenges, build confidence, achieve goals, and increase their work-life balance.

What was one of the hardest or most unexpected obstacles you had to overcome to get your idea off the ground?

I had to learn to have more patience, and manage my stress level.  When you start a new business you are going to have ups and downs, and you have to be flexible.  You have to look for opportunities to gain exposure for your business, and build relationships through networking opportunities.

Tell us about a moment you are particularly proud of in your business journey?

I have a few, but the one I am most proud of is this: all of my founding group coaching members were willing to write testimonials about their experience.  It feels amazing when you know that you are making a positive impact on others’ lives.

In August 2022, my business was recognized by Macon-Bibb County for Black Business Month.  My business was also featured in Macon Magazine in the Leadership edition.  Both articles are listed on my website.

Any advice you can share for someone thinking of getting their own idea off the ground?

Believe in yourself, find your purpose, stick with it, and you will succeed!
